The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Remote- Malvern, PA

(minimum requirement: must be able to work onsite four times a year)

Shift: Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM

What we’re looking for 

Education: High school diploma or GED required

Experience: 2+ years' experience in SAP/Procurement

Knowledge of SAP T-Codes

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred 

Solid understanding and experience in either shipping, inventory, or purchasing

Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can do attitude

High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

- Manage new and existing requisitions to ensure timely generation of Lab Service Orders, Blanket Purchase Orders, and standing orders, while reconciling and adjusting to match invoiced charges.

-Collaborate with requesters to efficiently process complex and urgent purchase orders.

- Order Placement

  - Review product lists to prevent ordering items already available in labs. Notify end users about available items and document this to track cost avoidance.

- Order Update

  - Track orders and ensure timely updates.

- Order Tracking

  - Utilize SAP and supplier resources to obtain estimated arrival times (ETAs).

  - Communicate ETAs and updates to end users and relevant departments.

- Order Receiving

  - Manage invoice discrepancies, receive purchase orders in eMP, and handle goods receipts.

  - Mark orders as received in SAP upon delivery notification.

- Order Completion

  - Close open purchase orders in Ariba as requested.

- Post-Delivery Services

  - Provide assistance with post-delivery issues, including returns.

- Address all departmental inquiries regarding requisition updates and statuses.

- Support vendor contacts with questions and tasks in eMP to ensure accurate and timely submission of requisitions.

- Maintain and enhance SharePoint to improve requester experiences for order submissions.

- Assist with regulatory holds as necessary.

- Review lab product lists to prevent duplicate orders, notifying end users about available stock and documenting this for cost avoidance.

- Obtain quotes from the Avantor Sales Representative as requested by end users.

- Conduct strategic sourcing and price comparisons for products to generate cost savings.
