WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
Procurement Coordinator – Resins North America, is responsible for the buying of HDPE, PP and PET resins.
This role is focused on developing business relationships with Global and Local Resin producers and bottle manufacturers. North America is primarily a local market and this role will interact with Sales Head of big petrochemical companies across suppliers in this region
On the customer front, primary customer will be RIGID packaging team. You’ll be a part of the RIGID packaging team as well as work very closely with North America packaging procurement team. This role is focused on developing long term supply partnership, negotiating resin contract and delivery saving projects, buying competitively, leading the forecasting process and driving strategic and digitization projects.
Sourcing/portfolio strategy
Execution of the global RESIN buying strategy;
Responsible for delivering the end-to-end strategic RESIN;
Drive sourcing projects which enable delivery on overall goals and objective;
Resilience- Alternative supplier and material approvals;
Setting up Inventory Programme model.
NMCI optimization/savings/buying performance
Competitively buy resins.
Driving price transparency through directed buy or right to audit, indices change or optimization, competitive resin formulas using structured pricing mechanism on Polymer / Monomer / Logistic Cost / Financing Cost
Alternate suppliers and material approvals, grade harmonization for scale and competitiveness, value chain disruption.
Setting up imported supply chain for resin procurement and driving competitiveness in local markets.
Creating direct interactions with the appropriate stakeholders / functional / operating teams within the business to drive buying behavior and change requirements
Price Risk management through Paper or Physical Hedge On Resins.
Forecasting
Responsible for price forecasting ensuring accuracy and completeness of the forecast economic assumptions and communicating timely to key business stakeholders forecast updates timely
Work with consultants like IHS, ICIS and CDI to deliver key insights
Contracting and negotiation
Ensure compliance to defined procurement procedures-contracting, contract management process- contract boards, strategy councils.
Close liaison with strategy and insights teams in identifying metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies.
Launching RFP’s/ e-tenders within appropriate timelines.
Ensuring Commercial Terms Contracts are signed off with Suppliers.
Supplier relationship management
Measuring and managing overall supplier performance
Ensure compliance to our responsible sourcing policy
lead the rationalization of suppliers, materials and services that meet Unilever's business requirements
Support service, resilience, and quality strategies
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
Experience in a Material Buying ( Procurement ) Function;
Bachelor's Degree required;
Deliver on Cost, Saving and Portfolio related project;
Experienced in stakeholder and supplier management;
Experience in managing business stakeholder’s relationships.
