Join us. **Job Summary:** This position is recognized within the Division as a leader in the field of data analytics possessing superior vision, knowledge and execution experience with utilizing data to improve business results. The incumbents are responsible for applying their technical knowledge and experience to drive communication, collaboration, problem solving and execution among a community of technical experts from inside and outside the company. At this level individuals are expected to use an awareness of commercial aspects of purchasing to help develop strategic recommendations to improve procurement outcomes and process capability, in support of our internal clients. Developing skills to build long-term external relationships with suppliers, as well as internal relationships with peers, constituents, and business unit customers are also expected. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this job function. A major function of this position includes adoption of new procurement capabilities and industry technologies to improve the quality of Caterpillar procurement. This involves initiative, and active participation in a team environment with internal and external suppliers and Caterpillar procurement professionals for implementation of new and innovative ideas. The position also requires the ability to recognize and propose opportunities to simplify and commonize processes, predict cost modeling development & execution, seek more efficient procurement processes, eliminate waste, and maintain or enhance quality and reduce cost. In addition, this position requires the capability to understand and develop solutions to improve supplier development, supplier performance management, global leverage through category strategy management and enterprise supply network optimization. Individuals at this level are expected to operate in cross-functional teams with minimum supervision to sell and implement such ideas. **What You Will Do:** • Utilize data to evaluate and improve procurement processes and technologies to reduce cost and improve quality and availability of purchased products. • Assist procurement teams in information availability and use to drive better leverage, predict outcomes, drive internal process quality, identify cost opportunities by our category teams. • Help develop tools to enable more strategic options for the commercial teams and improved operational performance of the procurement function. • Educate the procurement department on the availability, capability and use of information systems to improve outcomes. • Participate in the development and implementation of PROcure, the Caterpillar enterprise procurement solution. **Education Requirement:** Bachelor’s (4-year) preferably in a business, supply chain, or engineering-related field. **What Skills You Will Have:** **Planning: Tactical, Strategic:** • Develops, refines, and communicates tactical plans for own responsibilities. • Provides the right level of detail as input for strategic plan development. • Demonstrates the value and necessity of linking tactical plans to overall strategic plan. • Ensures attention to the detail and dependencies of existing departmental-level plans. • Plans for allocation of resources in line with unit goals, technical and business objectives. • Ensures the planning process is integrated with the overall business plan. **Analytical Thinking:** • Seeks discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information; Alternate locations will be considered for well-qualified candidates. Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
