Join us. **Job Summary:** This position is recognized within the Division as a leader in the field of data analytics possessing superior vision, knowledge and execution experience with utilizing data to improve business results. The incumbents are responsible for applying their technical knowledge and experience to drive communication, collaboration, problem solving and execution among a community of technical experts from inside and outside the company. At this level individuals are expected to use an awareness of commercial aspects of purchasing to help develop strategic recommendations to improve procurement outcomes and process capability, in support of our internal clients. Developing skills to build long-term external relationships with suppliers, as well as internal relationships with peers, constituents, and business unit customers are also expected. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this job function. A major function of this position includes adoption of new procurement capabilities and industry technologies to improve the quality of Caterpillar procurement. This involves initiative, and active participation in a team environment with internal and external suppliers and Caterpillar procurement professionals for implementation of new and innovative ideas. The position also requires the ability to recognize and propose opportunities to simplify and commonize processes, predict cost modeling development & execution, seek more efficient procurement processes, eliminate waste, and maintain or enhance quality and reduce cost. In addition, this position requires the capability to understand and develop solutions to improve supplier development, supplier performance management, global leverage through category strategy management and enterprise supply network optimization.
