JOB SUMMARY
As a Procurement Intern, you will be responsible for providing key support to the Procurement team. You may assist with creating and issuing requests for proposals, researching and analyzing spend with vendors, working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, and varied data entry. The Procurement Intern’s role is to provide support to the team to ensure professional execution of the procurement processes that keep POET running. This may include but not limited to order tracking, spend analysis, and inventory management.
DURING A TYPICAL DAY
Supporting the new supplier qualification process.Inventory management system support.Confirming receipt of requests for proposals and/or bid packages.Supporting purchase requests for goods and/or services.Storing proposals in our document management system and creating bid Assembling information and creating vendor Contacting suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of Researching new vendors.Analyzing spend to identify opportunities to increase Assisting with vendor relationship management.Providing timely status updates on projects and tasks.Visiting a biorefinery to better understand stakeholder needs.Since we’re all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skill may be put to a lot of other uses!STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
High school diploma or equivalent Junior or senior level status majoring in an accredited program, preferably in Business, Economics, or Engineering.Great interpersonal skills, possessing a high degree of professionalism and customer service.Demonstrated relationship-building Strong written and oral communication skills, decision-making, and problem-solving Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to adapt to Honest, ethical, and Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and changing Eager to learn and change the You know the basics of Microsoft Office You’re capable of learning new programs.
