Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Lead to support the U.S. Air Force Academy Base Maintenance Contract (USAFA BMC). This role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate procurement, storage, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment that sustain USAFA’s facilities, infrastructure, and mission-critical operations.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Execute planning, forecasting, purchasing, and issuing of materials and supplies to support base maintenance activitiesProcess material requests, create and file purchase orders, and track shipmentsCoordinate purchasing activities for planned projects, urgent repairs, and operational sustainment across Civil Engineering functionsCollaborate with internal teams to forecast material needs and support long-term project planning and executionIdentify and resolve discrepancies in orders, invoices, and delivery termsHandle sensitive and classified materials in accordance with USAFA security protocolsMaintain accurate inventory records, including serial numbers and purchase datesConduct bid analysis, supplier selection, and pricing validation for purchase requestsCommunicate with suppliers daily to resolve transactional issues and gather documentation (invoices, tracking info, tax forms)Audit invoices and ensure compliance with contract terms and Air Force standardsMaintain purchasing documentation including requisitions, logs, reports, and trending dataExpedite orders and ensure timely delivery of equipment and bulk materialsConduct security screening of incoming packages and verify receipt accuracyEnsure warehouse safety and environmental compliance; support inspectionsPack, ship, and deliver packages via USPS, UPS, or FedExMaintain tracking sheets for tools, materials, and vehiclesEnsure daily processing of purchase receipts and compliance with Skookum ISO documentation standardsSupport proper storage and distribution of classified materials and equipmenQualifications:
Associates Degree preferred3-8 years experience in procurement or supply chain rolesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication and customer service orientationProficiency in Microsoft Office and work management systemsPhysical Requirements:
