JOB PURPOSE:
Unilever Procurement is embedded within the larger North American supply chain across the United States and Canada. This role will have a specific focus on the procurement for dedicated fleet (outbound), bulk (STOs), drayage (inbound and outbound), and domestic ocean transportation services for the Unilever distribution network, with annual spend of approximately ~$60M across more than 15 carriers.

This role will create value via a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model while aligning to the Unilever Procurement strategies and North American Transportation Strategy, balancing the cost savings and/or inflation mitigation expected of a procurement professional with the service expectations of the operations group as key stakeholders. This role is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing supplier relationships management programs that address commercial and operational expectations.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE:
This role will be an individual contributor, reporting into a Senior Procurement Manager for Logistics. As a Coordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:
End-to-end portfolio
Analyzing rates versus benchmarks/baseline spend to identify opportunities for our future negotiations
Managing Request for Proposal (RFP) processes with external carrier partners to meet sourcing needs from the operations
Creating and onboarding new carriers for our network through processes such as EDI and velocity
Updating and maintaining rates across different sub-portfolios
Coordinating and leading mini bids throughout the year for different sub-portfolios by engaging with operations and procurement logistics peers to define needs and negotiate with carriers to adjust the network as required
Updating and managing carriers’ contracts (MTAs) in C4U tool (legal tool in Unilever)
Leading bids across the different sub-portfolios such as dedicated fleet, bulk, etc.
System administration of within the Unilever
Supplier evaluation and onboarding.
This role is a key focal point with the operations team to manage volumes, rates, equipment types, commitment allocation levels, and carrier accountability to contracts.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Experiences & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business.
Fluent in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills (the role is in English).
Fluent or native Portuguese
Proven logistics experience (e.g., transportation, warehousing, procurement logistics).
Ideally, have experience in Logistics (transport and/or warehousing, Procurement (ideally logistics), or both
Work on Eastern Standard Time (time zone).
The ability to work in a fast-paced business environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability by managing numerous priorities concurrently; organizational and time-management abilities are a must.
Strong technical skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and PowerBi.
Demonstrated analytical aptitude with a validated ability to analyze/interpret data, with an emphasis on transportation cost modeling.
Proven abilities in stakeholder management, with an emphasis on listening and influencing.
Proven abilities in external partner management, with an emphasis on listening and influencing.
Ideally, experience working with enterprise level logistics systems, such as a Transportation Management System, Yard Management Systems, or Warehouse Management System is required.
Experience negotiating cost variables with transportation providers and Knowledge of the modes and key suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business (MBA) or Supply Chain
Certificates such as ASCM/APICS certification in CLTD or CSCP or CSCMP SC Pro
Formal negotiation training or experience is preferred but not required.
SAP, Oracle TMS, JDA WMS, PowerBI, and Jaggaer contracting.
