Purpose of the Job :  

Asia accounts for Half of global consumer base and more than a 3rd of Unilever’s turnover. This role is responsible for Co-creating and implementing Procurement Strategies for Transportation portfolio in 12 Key markets across Asia.  

 

You will be responsible for ensuring the Transportation portfolio sourcing strategies make sure UL is competitive, delivering world class service levels, improving on safety & sustainability of operations and building purpose-led partnerships for warehousing services across the markets. 

Key Accountabilities: 

You are expected to lead the strategy creation and execution with Country leads to Deliver on the key matrices of World class service, Competitive Cost, Safety and Sustainability by    

Working with markets leads to understanding business requirements across countries for Cost, Quality, Safety, Service and sustainability and how it translates to sourcing specifications. 

Working with markets leads to understand spend as well as the total cost of ownership for the company in the market. 

Finding the right sources for generating new / leveraging existing competitive insights for benchmarking of current cost, sourcing specifications & partner base vs market to identify areas of opportunities and risks 

Co-creating the sourcing strategy to optimally meet the sourcing specifications, who to buy from, how to buy, when to buy 

Identifying and implementing next generation tools and process to optimize sourcing practices  

Building team capability by driving key learning and development programmes. 

Working closely with Internal Procurement teams and Operations Excellence teams monitor performance and drive key initiatives.

Travel :  

The role will involve regional travel for 20% of the year  

Skills  

An ideal candidate is expected to have  

Strong analytical skills  

Financial analysis and reporting 

Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Power Point 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

Fluency in spoken and written English and any Indian language preferable 

 

The below Procurement skills will be an added advantage. 

Portfolio Strategy Development 

Negotiation 

Strategic Supplier Partnerships  

Digital sourcing Platforms knowledge 

 

 

Education and Experiences 

The Candidate should have  

either a bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Management  

Or a master’s degree with specialization in Procurement / Supply Chain with at least 4 years experience in Procurement / Supply Chain Management 

Relevant Experience in Procurement / operations of Transportation Services.
