The Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in actively managing the sourcing and supply of raw materials, specifically base chemicals and aliphatic amines, for the Joint Venture Global Amines. This position will involve negotiating contracts, conducting market research, identifying new suppliers, and driving improvements in cost efficiency, supply chain optimization, and sustainability. The role ensures the timely availability of materials for production, in alignment with our business and procurement strategies.
Responsibilities
Manage raw materials for Clariant, its subsidiaries & affiliated joint venture companies focusing on sourcing and improving supply chain efficiency. Negotiate and finalize sourcing agreements in alignment with business and procurement strategies. Conduct market research, identify new suppliers, and develop sourcing strategies for assigned materials. Drive continuous improvements in cost control, supplier performance, and innovation through strategic sourcing and e-Sourcing techniques. Monitor supplier performance, mitigate supply risks, and ensure timely deliveries with consistent quality. Collaborate with supply chain, planning, and technical teams to ensure material availability and support sustainability and procurement initiatives.
Requirements
A Master's degree in Business/Supply Chain or a Bachelor's/Diploma in Chemical/Science/Engineering is preferred, though not mandatory. 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain within the manufacturing industry (e.g., Chemical, FMCG, international, or management experience). Procurement certifications are a plus. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in additional languages being an advantage. Strong ability to work across multiple regions, with an understanding of regional challenges, regulations, and cultural differences. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams globally and managing supplier relationships. Capability to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives, contributing to the long-term success of the organization. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate the complexities of global supply chains. Ability to react, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and globally diverse environment.
