Job Description:

Position: Procurement Manager

Location: Kolkata, India

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services. Manage the entire procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply chains. Monitor market trends and conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain. Collaborate with project managers and other departments to understand procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements in all procurement activities. Prepare and manage procurement budgets, track expenditures, and report on cost savings and efficiencies. Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure quality and performance standards are met. Implement and maintain procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in the engineering, construction, or manufacturing industries. Strong negotiation and contract management skills. Excellent understanding of supply chain management principles and practices. Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM). Experience with international procurement and global supply chains. Knowledge of sustainability practices and green procurement.
