Job Description

As a Procurement Manager specializing in Department of Defense (DOD) contracts, you will lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management efforts. Your role will be critical in identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with U.S. government procurement regulations. You will manage the full procurement lifecycle, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement process improvements to support scalability and cost-efficiency.

ResponsibilitiesIdentify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to meet technical, quality, and cost requirements.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure optimal value.Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term business goals.Manage the full procurement lifecycle from requisition to purchase order issuance and supplier delivery tracking.Collaborate with engineering, quality, and finance teams to align procurement with project timelines and budgets.Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.Ensure adherence to U.S. government procurement regulations (ITAR, FAR/DFARS).Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and audit-ready documentation.Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities.Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes, tools, and systems.Implement best practices in sourcing, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.Manage procurement efforts during the transition of products from development to full-scale production.Ensure procurement strategies support scalability, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency.Interpret technical drawings, PCBA schematics, and engineering documentation to support sourcing decisions.Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and constraints.Essential Skills5 to 8 years of DOD purchasing experience for hardware with DFAR, FAR & ITAR compliances.Experience in managing the supply chain and inventory using ERP systems.Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.Strong knowledge of U.S. government procurement regulations and compliance standards.Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsCPSM, CPIM, or equivalent certification.Experience with international sourcing and export control regulations.Demonstrated success in supplier development and cost-saving initiatives.Must be clearable and able to travel 15%.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
