Procurement Operations Specialist

Team Summary
The Procurement Operations Team is responsible for managing procurement support data including raw material items and pricing, systems drawdown purchases (system-based contracts), and raw material forecasting in support of our category managers. The team works collaboratively to manage pertinent Supply Chain relationships and maintain cohesion of procurement data. Given the level of engagement from planning to execution, the team plays a key role in identifying areas of improvement throughout the entire process.

Job Summary
The Procurement Operations Specialist will be an integral part of the Procurement Operations & Excellence Team. The role involves supporting, enhancing and optimizing workflows in our Drop Ship processes. The Procurement Operations Specialist will also be responsible for working cross-functionally with our Customer Care and Category Management teams to keep all parties informed concerning Drop Ship Purchase Orders. This role is uniquely positioned to deliver value to our vendor partners, and both internal and external customers alike.


Essential Duties

Manage Drop Ship PO portfolio from creation through fruition, identifying any deviations from our process to alleviate order backlog (15-20%)Communicate with the Customer Care group on PO status and updates (15-20%)Prioritize exceptions to alleviate customer impact (10-15%)Analyze invoices including verification of proper cost, freight, discounts, surcharges, and apply all other misc. charges/credits correctly. (10-15%)Support improvement of drop ship procurement activities as we seek efficiencies to streamline and elevate our daily workflow processes (10-15%)Manage Purchase Order commitment and invoicing for customs relations (5-10%)Scheduling freight for FTL and LTL 3rd Party items in support of Residential Planning Team as indicated (5-10%)Support Drop Ship procurement teammates as indicated (5%)Ad-hoc. (5%)

Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)2+ years of experience in a business roleSolid understanding of standard procurement and supply chain concepts, practices, and proceduresStrategic and systems thinkingExcellent communication and computer skillsCross-Functional Collaboration: Work across teams to ensure current workflows meet business requirements and serve as a bridge between functional groups for pricing, invoicing concernsProcess Improvement Focused: Identify functionality gaps and continuous improvement opportunities and develop appropriate action plans.Excellent Communication: Communicate changes, recommendations, and risks to category managers and other functional partners to mitigate issues and service delays.
