Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Procurement Representative (Engineer) to join our team! In this role you will get to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of engineering materials and services, ensuring technical specifications are met while optimizing cost, quality, and supply chain efficiency.
What You'll Be Doing:
Procurement Management:Source and procure engineering materials, equipment, and services in alignment with project requirements.
Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotation) and RFPs (Request for Proposals) to suppliers and vendors.
Review and evaluate supplier quotes, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and cost constraints.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with suppliers to secure optimal deals.
Technical Support:Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical requirements and specifications for projects.
Ensure that procured materials and services meet the required technical standards and quality.
Provide technical assistance in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.
Vendor Management:Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality materials and on-time delivery.
Conduct supplier performance reviews, ensuring compliance with contract terms and performance metrics.
Address and resolve any issues related to supply chain delays, quality control, or non-compliance.
Cost and Budget Management:Monitor and control procurement costs, aiming to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
Prepare procurement reports, including budget forecasts, actual costs, and cost-saving initiatives.
Track purchase orders and deliveries to ensure they align with budget and project timelines.
Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, supplier agreements, and warranties.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company-specific procurement policies.
Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials and goods in line with project schedules.
Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
Recommend and implement best practices to streamline procurement activities, improve quality, and reduce costs.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical specifications.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Solid understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Procurement or Supply Chain certification is a plus (e.g., CIPS, CPSM).
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of engineering materials and components.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving challenges.
