Job Description:

We're looking for a Procurement Sourcing Specialist  to join our MBPS Procurement COE Team . You will be responsible for driving and supporting global sourcing and contracting events in the low impact stream of Manulife’s indirect spend categories. In this specialist role, you are vital in maintaining the relationship between Manulife and its third-party vendors during the course of the end-to-end procurement process, as well in supporting the Category Managers in-line with the “Buy Better” strategy of the Procurement organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, or other related disciplinesMinimum 3 years of experience in Procurement and Supply Chain, preferably in the shared services industryStrong communication skills and task management skillsAdequate experience in the execution of sourcing, negotiation and contracting processFamiliarity with e-Sourcing tools and strategies to maximize savingsFamiliarity with North American contracts including main clauses required for specific types of agreement, Statement of Work, Project Requirements, and ExhibitsComfortable working with legal and risk subject matter expertsKnowledge of Procurement or Finance applications and systems, databases and reporting tools allowing for high level spend assessment and analyticsStrong PC skills and proficiency with MS excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.Familiarity with project management processes and systemsExperience within real estate, facilities, marketing and/or human resources is an advantageAttentive to details, innovative and result drivenOperates in a professional and ethical manner with customers and vendorsAmenable to work on a night shift schedule

   

Key Responsibilities:

   

Sourcing

Support and / or lead sourcing initiatives in accordance with business requirements within aggressive timelines while ensuring the integrity of the bidding processEstablish and maintain a collaborative relationship with third party vendorsConduct negotiations and secure deals that drive savings, meet and fulfill business requirementsEnsure projects are conducted in compliance with internal procurement policiesManage the mailbox and work intake tools to ensure timely resolution of stakeholder queries and concerns; accurate documentation of project development; and prompt communication of relevant issues and updates with business partners   

Strategy and Planning

Perform detailed analysis of spend, contract terms and conditionsDrive and champion established procurement strategies for each sourcing event in accordance with their respective spend categories.Maintain a mutually beneficial engagement with Category Managers to allow for sharing of best practices and ensure alignment with category strategiesCoordinate with functional subject matter experts such as Risk, Legal, Finance, and Tax to ensure compliance with the company’s standards from a contractual standpointMonitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers for the respective categorySupport business unit clients’ understanding of procurement processes, policies, and systems
