For more information, please visit www.thermofisher.com. Job Summary This position plays a crucial role in developing and implementing sourcing strategies. The responsibilities include performing spot buys, leading sourcing events, and managing projects related to multiple categories. Key Responsibilities • Lead strategic and tactical sourcing activities. • Handle the contract lifecycle process, including uploading contracts, developing standard templates, and monitoring/tracking expiry. • Develop negotiation strategies and secure deals with favorable terms for assigned categories. • Research potential new vendors and identify second sources. • Partner with customers to ensure clear requirements documentation is translated into RFPs and contracts as appropriate. • Perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking to advise sourcing decisions. • Negotiate contract terms and pricing, delivering and recording annual P&L savings. • Support projects related to various sourcing activities. • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve efficiency. Functional & Technical Skills • Strong experience with the sourcing process, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procure-to-pay operations. • Proficiency with ERP systems, spend analytics, e-sourcing, and contract management systems. • Excellent category-specific sourcing and leadership skills in key portfolios such as lab supplies, packaging, or chemicals. • Clear understanding of multi-step strategic sourcing processes and strategies. • Experience negotiating agreements/contracts with suppliers. • Understanding of procurement processes, tools, and standard methodologies. Leadership & Behavioral Skills • Agility and flexibility to develop expertise across sourcing categories complementary to the existing team. • Desire to grow and develop as a sourcing specialist and gain category expertise across direct portfolios (e.g., electrical, mechanical, packaging, or chemicals). • Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment; a self-starter who seeks ways to improve existing processes. • Customer service orientation, keen to meet internal customer needs. • Independent worker with the ability to lead and meet own deadlines. • Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data to inform sourcing decisions. • Analytical problem solver who makes data-driven decisions; capable of preparing analyses to develop sourcing strategies/scenarios and savings. • Desire to mentor and coach junior team members. Experience & Qualifications • 5+ years of procurement experience within direct categories. • Shown working experience as a buyer, senior buyer, purchasing specialist, agent, or officer. • Degree in engineering, supply chain management, operations, or business administration. • High Level of English proficiency (both verbal and written).
