Procurement Specialist 1 IT
We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have recently graduated with a degree in Supply Chain Management or Business and/or have some experience in a procurement and/or IT role. You will join a team of specialists focused on providing procurement support and exceptional service to the scientists, engineers, and organizations across the Laboratory. The Procurement Specialist facilitates the procurement process through the timely and economical acquisition of IT hardware, software, and services required by the scientific and operations organizations of Argonne National Laboratory within legal constraints of the regulatory procedures and statutes. It would be preferred that a successful candidate have experience delivering exceptional customer service as well as have attention to detail **Position Requirements** Provide support as needed to all aspects of acquisitions for IT hardware, software, and services including but not limited to the following: + Some experience of applicable procurement regulations and established procurement policies and procedures. + Ability to perform pre- and post-award acquisition activities, such as planning, scheduling, administering, terminating, and closing out awards while working jointly with a multitude of personnel (e.g., program, finance, budget, legal). + Some knowledge of negotiating orders, evaluating and selecting vendors, and determining appropriate prices. + Some knowledge of the characteristics of software licensing and IT hardware products and services that are being procured. + Ability to complete price analysis. + Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). + Strong communication and negotiation skills. + Good analytical and strategic thinking skills and attention to detail. + Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently. + Work with other team members to complete duties as needed. + Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. **Job Family** Professional Administrative (PA) **Job Profile** Procurement 1 **Worker Type** Regular **Time Type** Full time _As an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer, and in accordance with our core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity and teamwork, Argonne National Laboratory is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace that fosters collaborative scientific discovery and innovation.
