Procurement Specialist
Summary

Lidl US is searching for the next Procurement Specialist to join our team!  The Procurement Specialist assists the Procurement department with sourcing goods for Headquarters, Regional Distribution Center (RDC), and primarily stores in accordance with legal and company compliance. The position is responsible for finding solutions for issues identified by internal business partners. The Specialist is also responsible for assisting with projects and presentations within the department that may include modifying and executing new processes, and other projects as needed.

What You’ll Do

•    Execute procurement assets for Headquarters, RDC, and stores with the direction of the Procurement Manager
•    Assist in ensuring systems are properly designed, installed, operated and maintained
•    Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors and establish agreed upon terms and conditions
•    Execute efficient solutions for issues raised by other departments
•    Complete projects and presentations with direction
•    Execute new procedures and processes in compliance with legal and Lidl standards
•    Source and suggest best vendors to establish national and regional partnerships
•    Perform updates and modification to assets within Proshop
•    Ensure compliance with planning conditions when assisting with Procurement
•    Content check invoices and ensure adherence to corporate policies for contracting and approvals
•    Data preparation and administration with the aid of existing systems
•    Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
•    Knowledge of business and office communications protocol, project management and PowerPoint presentation skills
•    Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
•    Excellent writing/grammar and communication skills and moderate understanding of mathematical functions
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
•    Knowledge and understanding of tendering with external partners, from initial request for proposals through contract execution

German language skills

 

Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree in related field
•    1 - 2 years of experience in related field

 

Travel Requirements
•    This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
•    This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time
•    This position requires overnight international travel less than 25% of the time
•    Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
