Procurement Specialist

Position Summary This role serves as the individual responsible for indirect and direct strategic sourcing buyer function for the company. In addition to this the role serves as buyer for corporate services. The position interacts directly with our employee base and with direct material and indirect service providers to ensure compliance to our cost and payment term contract guidelines. This individual must be able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment with a focus on internal customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, compliance and excellent attention to details. The position requires the ability to work independently, prioritize work, demonstrate strong accountability, good judgment and meet established deadlines. Core Responsibilities and Tasks + Responsible for ensuring that Strategic suppliers are being engaged and utilized in project budgets over designated threshold and act as the Strategic Sourcing representative at a project level + Ensure that Xylem projects over a specified threshold have validated costs included within the project budget and ensure that the costs are competitive and sustainable + Supplier rationalization, successful project management support, supplier selection and qualification processes, supplier relationship and management programs, targeted improvements in total costs. Comprehensive commodity profiles, including market analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership. Identification and associated mitigation plan for pricing inflation and high-risk factors that may impact total cost or assurance of supply. + Identify cost reduction opportunities including make versus buy analysis and alternative sourcing utilizing benchmarking data, cost modeling and total cost analysis; identifying product/process improvements; executing competitive sourcing processes; analyzing commodity market trends; and leveraging global spend. + Drive lean transformation throughout the supply chain and continuous improvement in all aspects of the commodity and project procurement process. + Completes supplier analysis in order to acquire the best suppliers and to guarantee an optimum supply chain, and to assess potential assurance of supply risks (financial, stability, capacity, etc.). + Maintain the privacy and confidentially of information, protect the assets of the organization, act with ethics and integrity, report non-compliance, and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations Position Requirements KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: • Leader with initiative, self-motivating skillset that works both autonomously and in a team environment • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Strong data analysis and reporting skills. • Good time management skills and a willingness to go the extra mile. • High self-motivation and keen attention to detail are required. • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion. • Ability to multi task in a fast-paced organization. Preferred: • Supply Chain or Procurement Experience • Experience operating within fast paced business with strong commercial acumen. • Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving Skills, and Strong Communication Skills. • Computer skills such as SAP systems (or similar ERP platform), Email, MS Office, and MS Projects. • Experience with the procurement and material flow in an Engineered-to-Order environment.
