Procurement Specialist

Our client, a producer of rolled steel products for the mining, construction, automotive and engineering industries, is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their team in Edmonton.  This person will be responsible for evaluating supply chain opportunities for the organization.

Responsibilities:

Collect and report market intelligence. Develop new sources of supply. Review supply and process opportunities and prepare procurement plans in support of operational initiatives. Review specifications, descriptions, work scopes; recommend improvements and opportunities for efficiency. Review submissions for compliance, prepare bid summary and evaluation spreadsheets. Obtain quotes, negotiate with vendors, source items, create and expedite. Manage open PO Reports and PO close out process. Receive and review requirement requisitions. Lead and facilitate meetings with suppliers for procurement planning or resolution.

Requirements:

Minimum 7 years’ experience in a procurement role with strong background in sourcing and negotiation. Post Secondary education is preferred. CPSM designation is a MUST. Manufacturing experience is an asset. Attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively.

Remuneration:

Remuneration for this role consists of a competitive base salary depending on experience plus bonus, a full benefit program, a great Registered Pension Plan and growth opportunity.
