Job Description
As a Procurement Specialist, you will prepare purchase orders, approve payments, and negotiate prices to ensure a smooth procurement process under general guidance. You will also prepare requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages for new business categories, monitor contract performance, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Your role involves contacting suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries, building commercial relationships with local and international suppliers, and closely monitoring purchase order status and shipping dates.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare purchase orders and approve payments.Negotiate prices to ensure the procurement process runs smoothly.Prepare requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages for new business categories.Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.Build commercial relationships with local and international suppliers.Monitor purchase order status and shipping dates, maintaining delivery dates updated in NetSuite.Track purchase orders from end to end and lead action plans to mitigate potential risks associated with suppliers.Generate and analyze reports related to purchasing and other supply chain areas.Support the buying planning process by identifying supplier production lead times, communicating potential demand, and requesting improvements in production lead-times.Identify potential supplier production issues, develop risk mitigation plans, and escalate issues if necessary.Partner with the Sourcing Manager to support sourcing activities such as cost analysis and new vendor setup.Participate in Manufacturing and Engineering meetings.Coordinate with Logistics and Material teams regarding inventory movement, transactions, and shipping from suppliers to locations or third parties.Develop and implement process improvement initiatives in the Supply Chain Management department.Define and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Essential Skills4+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain/Procurement/Purchasing.Experience using NetSuite or similar ERP systems.Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, search functions, VLOOKUP, sorting, and filtering.Strong negotiation skills.Advanced English skills (writing/oral).Pro-Teamwork approach with good communication, honesty, empathy, and collaboration skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED required.Experience in vendor management.Work Environment
This is an on-site role based in Midland, TX, working closely with a team of four other individuals in similar roles. The position offers direct hire opportunities, including stock options, relocation assistance, salary stipend, and hotel accommodations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
