Procurement Specialist/Buyer I | Chesapeake | On-Site Aston Carter is hiring a Procurement Specialist to assist with vendor sourcing and selection, purchase order and quote preparations, price negotiation, and client communication.The Procurement Specialist/Buyer I is responsible for:
+ Purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
+ Evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
+ Negotiating directly with vendors to get the best possible pricing and payment options.
+ Overseeing operational tasks related to purchase orders including: follow-ups on exceptions, mitigation of delivery problems, maintaining purchase system lead-time settings, and contributing to lead time estimates in actual cases.
+ Handling correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices.
+ Reporting any changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices to interested parties in a timely manner.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2+ years of purchasing experience including Purchase Order preparation, vendor sourcing, and quote preparation.
+ Previous experience utilizing ERP systems (i.e. SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics 365, NetSuite or similar)
+ Proficiency with MS Excel
+ Must be able to type 40+ WPM
Work Schedule (Fully On-Site)
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00
