Job Summary:
Responsible for the indirect purchasing of goods and services for Avnet’s internal consumption, , ranging from sourcing, price negotiations, and services contracting. Aligns purchases with the business strategies and financial goals.
Principal Responsibilities:
Identifies and gathers requirements from business stakeholders and evaluates the urgency of the required goods and services.Conducts market analysis to understand market trends, identify potential vendors, and compile competitive pricing via requests for quotes/proposals (RFQ, RFP).Assess quotes and proposals based on pricing, value, and capabilities. Performs due diligence to ensure quotes and proposals meet or exceed business requirements and collaborates and communicates with business stakeholders.Develops and manages relationship with vendors to hold them accountable for meeting pricing and delivery commitments to include process improvements.Review contracts and terms and conditions to mitigate risk and provide the most favorable terms and obtain necessary approvals and signatures.Negotiates pricing with vendors and ensures payment terms are beneficial to company.Coordinate the requestion process with business stakeholders to receive appropriate approvals in order to generate purchase orders and provide timely payments of approved invoices.Maintain detailed records of contracts and document retention for compliance and audit purposes.Actively tracks and updates all assigned work in a timely matter.Supports group and/or organization key initiatives and objectives through contributions on project teams to include support of supplier management activities.Other duties as assigned.Job Level Specifications:
Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results.Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. May represent department internally or externally.Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.Work Experience:
Typically 3+ years.Education and Certification(s):
Bachelor's or equivalent, or a mix of work experience and/or professional certifications.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.#LI-HYBRID
