Position Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Developer Advocate to lead the execution of product strategies that support Global Payments' Developer Experience. This role will play a pivotal part in driving the adoption of our Developer Portal, API tools, and building a robust developer community through the pillars of Code, Content, and Community.
As part of the Developer Experience Product team, the Developer Advocate will work cross-functionally with teams to ideate, create, and promote technical content, helping third-party developers succeed with our platform. You'll be the bridge between our developer community and product teams, creating compelling content, building sample applications, and fostering a thriving ecosystem of integrations surrounding Global Payments. Additionally, you'll directly shape our platform's evolution by deeply understanding developer needs, gathering insights, and partnering with product managers to build features that deliver clear customer value to our developer community.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a key advocate for the developer community, gathering insights and feedback to inform future content, product updates, and marketing initiatives. Work to amplify developer voices and success stories within the Global Payments ecosystem.
Engage with developers through speaking at conferences, hosting workshops, and participating in online communities. Lead efforts to engage developers and create opportunities for deeper collaboration within the community.
Track and analyze developer adoption metrics to inform our platform strategy. Ensure that KPIs are met and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Developer Experience teams to ensure that marketing efforts align with product roadmaps and technical offerings. Act as the bridge between technical teams and the broader developer ecosystem to convey complex technical concepts in an accessible manner.
Create high-quality technical content including tutorials, code samples, and documentation that showcase best practices for our API platform
Build and maintain sample applications that demonstrate platform capabilities and integration patterns
Drive voice-of-developer input into product roadmap and prioritization discussions
Measure and analyze developer success metrics to inform product strategy. Ensure that KPIs are met and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Present platform capabilities and gather feedback at industry events
Build strong relationships with key customers to understand their integration needs
Minimum Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in developer advocacy, software development, technical product management, or related fields. Experience in payments or fintech is a plus.
Familiarity with APIs, SDKs, and developer ecosystems. Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling marketing content.
Strong track record of developing technical content for developers, including videos, blogs, tutorials, documentation, and webinars.
Strong collaboration skills, with experience working with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to align efforts with technical initiatives.
A proactive thinker who brings innovative ideas to engage developers and drive adoption of technical tools.
Experience in using analytics tools to track the success of marketing campaigns, content performance, and community growth, with the ability to optimize based on insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the payments industry or experience with fintech products.
Experience with developer communities and platforms like GitHub, Stack Overflow, or similar.
Public speaking experience at technical conferences or meetups
Active presence in developer communities and social media
Experience with API design and developer tooling
Open source contributions or community involvement
Experience gathering and analyzing developer feedback to inform product decisions
