The Product Assistant (PA) is a Cengage Academic Product Management role at Cengage. This particular PA role will primarily support our US Higher Education English portfolio within the Humanities team.

As a PA, you will provide direct, day-to-day support to one or more Product Managers and their supporting teams. Your role will involve delivering various services to increase product development and enhance strategic marketing efforts, aligning with the group's business goals.

What you'll do here:

Support Product Management in the development of strategic documentation, such as Portfolio Business Plans, Portfolio Roadmaps, strategy documentation, etc.

Support Product Management in building product proposals.

Conduct independent research on topics or trends relevant to the subject areas supported. Synthesize and summarize results to the Product Manager(s) and the larger team.

Thoroughly benchmark competitive offerings and actively update comparisons, when necessary.

Identify participants for product research efforts, recruit them to the activity, track their participation, and pay them for quality input.

Document and contribute to research plan design and instrument creation.

Consolidate notes and synthesizes research activities for analysis and interpretation by Product Management.

Provide accurate and sufficiently detailed information about products via Product Marketing Form.

Serve as point of contact for Technical Support cases using existing process and resolve questions/issues by working with the product team to deliver solutions.

Respond to sales or customer inquiries in a timely and efficient manner with a high level of accuracy.

Ensure effective meetings by reserving rooms, scheduling appointments, internal and external meetings, and manage accommodations and changes.

Promptly process vendor payments, appropriately log the payments, and troubleshoots as necessary.

Suggest alternative solutions to improve procedural clarity and decrease risk.

Skills you’ll need here:

Proficiency in Computer Applications: Commonly used systems include Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, databases, and more.

Organization: Being efficient or methodical; able to plan things carefully and keep them orderly; ability to tackle new opportunities and tough challenges with high energy, and passion.

Dealing with Ambiguity: Moves forward when needed without knowing all the details.

Collaboration: Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. Maintains an open mind and an ability to work together in new ways to drive business needs.

Focus on the Customer: Participate in delivering a high-quality learning experience that delights students and instructors.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location.  Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
