As the Product Compliance Engineer of codes and compliance, you will serve as a key team member for the “core products” aspect of the business in North America. Your responsibilities will encompass product testing, certification maintenance, compliance revisions to match code/requirement updates. You will be expected to work closely internally with R&D scientists, and externally with third party certification agencies. In this role, you will also be responsible for managing documentation of revisions, modifications, and of externally produced test reports, compliance listings, and evaluation reports.
You will be based in Fontana CA reporting to the R&D Manager for Codes & Compliance. Projects may require 30-40% travel.
What You’ll Do:
Ensure listings, certifications, and evaluation reports remain active and current to renewal deadlines and the latest building regulations. (example agencies: ICC-ES, Texas Department of Insurance, HUD, Miami-Dade County, State of Florida Product Approval, CCMC, CAL FIRE, UL Environment, National Green Building Standards, Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval) Manage change to approvals and listings (and ensure compliance is maintained) based on changes such as: new factories coming online, new marketing, and process optimization projects. Initiate and manage product testing with accredited third-party laboratories. Maintain compliance documentation for new products as they come online. Work with the team to develop and provide codes and compliance presentations Work with internal stakeholders to review instructions, labels, product markings, etc. for code compliance. Oversee QA of code-specific lab test methods and equipment used for internal information purposes Active participation in Codes and Standards committees (IBC, IRC, IWUIC, ASTM, ICC, ANSI) not required but encouraged. Active participation in safety and innovation events

What You’ll Bring:
B.S. in Engineering (Civil or Mechanical), Architecture, Science, or a related technical field. 3-5 years of exposure to building codes, ASTM standards & test methods used in product testing or product evaluation. Minimum 1-year direct experience working with product compliance, building codes, ASTM standards & test methods. Familiarity with Smartsheet, or similar software platform (Jira, Monday, MS Project) Familiarity with testing labs / certification agencies (ICC-ES, Intertek, QAI, etc.) Ability to develop efficient and creative ways to motivate yourself and teammates when working on repetitive tasks/assignments Excellent organizational skills thoroughness and attention to detail is critical Ability to clearly articulate thoughts, ideas, and concepts in writing Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner, with independent management and effective use of resources Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision after goals are defined Ability to focus on task-at-hand; task-oriented and teamwork focused Experience with product development and certification a Plus Experience in Quality Assurance a plus Familiarity with quality principles such as: Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, FMEA, PPAP

The expected compensation range for this position is between $80,000 and $94,000 (Base) plus 15% bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for benefits which may also include a discretionary bonus.
