About the Role:

The Product Compliance Specialist will be responsible for assuring compliance of approximately 1,500 ChemTreat water treatment chemical products with all applicable United States and International laws, regulations, and standards to which ChemTreat subscribes and other designated non-regulatory criteria. This position develops and implements compliance procedures, policies and programs for new chemical regulations, update, maintains and follows existing procedures, programs, and policies to ensure that products are in legal and regulatory compliance with National and International chemical regulations.

This position is part of the Product Compliance team located onsite in Glen Allen, VA with 1 flex day to work remote!

The essential responsibilities of the job include:

Perform product hazard classification based on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirementsCommunicate regulatory requirements and product information to customers, vendors, sales reps, R&D, operations and back office associates.Assess the combination of product attributes and product application conditions and select, obtain and maintain appropriate product credentials and certifications or document product conformance to compliance criteriaDesignate and obtain necessary analytical test data as needed for hazard classification or determination of compliance criterion of applications.Perform regulatory reviews on new and existing chemical raw materials and products and determine the applicability of various chemical regulationsDevelop compliance procedures and modify existing procedures policies based on regulationsCoordinate with Product Management to fulfill new product requests and manage lifecycle of products with regulatory requirements.

Are you qualified?

BA/BS degree in Physical Science, Chemistry, or related field.5+ years of Chemical Compliance experienceKnowledge of the structure and function of law and regulationsKnowledge of the requirements for FDA, Kosher, GHSCommunication and Interpersonal skills; Teamwork and leadershipAbility to relay technical knowledge concisely both written and verballyComfortable acting as compliance representative on diverse cross functional teams

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $95,000 - $100,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
