The Role:
Bloomberg LP is seeking a Product Data Analyst to support the Product team in the Enterprise Technology department. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly navigate & understand complex spaces surrounding financial trading workflows, systems integration & systems connectivity; building a basis to perform in-depth analysis on related datasets; collaborating & communicating with stakeholders to derive high quality insights for our business.
A typical week will involve working with Product & Engineering partners to understand system spaces & data to develop business intelligence dashboards and perform hands-on analysis using tools such as Qlik Sense, Excel & Jupyter Notebooks. Insights gained from our data will be presented to managers to support their decision making; collated to track our product adoption & performance metrics and will help Engineering continuously improve data quality & data models.
We’ll Trust You To:
+ Coordinate directly with Product, Engineering & Business partners to understand data
+ domains, data models and data insight needs.
+ Develop execution plans to capture necessary data, provide ad hoc data analysis and
+ build re-usable intelligence dashboards for ongoing data insights.
+ Train our internal user community in our data insight offering to promote regular
+ usage in their day-to-day approach..
+ Design business reports to track & convey key performance and usage metrics for
+ Enterprise Technology systems
You’ll Need To Have:
+ 5+ years of experience in financial services IT, including experience supporting an
+ enterprise-wide trading environment; managing transactional flow environments;
+ hardware and application architecture; application development, configuration, and
+ monitoring;
+ Computer engineering, science or related degree
+ Experience with scripting languages such as Python & strong SQL skills
+ Proven experience performing data modeling & data analysis with Qlik Sense, Excel,
+ Jupyter and/or similar Business Intelligence tools
+ Critical thinking skills and creativity to solve problems, prioritize work, and maintain
+ flexibility
+ Ability to organize and communicate information to a wide variety of audiences,
+ including strong written, verbal, visual, and quantitative skills
+ Experience working with customer support, back-end development, and business
+ teams, and with individuals with a wide variety of technical and non-technical
+ backgrounds
