Position SummaryITT Cannon is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineer with mid-level development experience in the connector industry to join the ITT Cannon Connectors N.A. team. ITT Cannon currently either utilizes external companies to design and private label backshells for our new connector platforms or we do not have backshell offerings. Backshells exist for some of the older legacy products but in many cases the designs are outdated and need to be improved. Starting a backshell design focus will allow ITT Cannon to refresh their existing backshell designs and add new backshells for strategic connector families.
Essential Responsibilities General engineering product setup, design and managementEngineering BOM creation, documentation creation and updatesDesign of new components and assembliesManage and plan multiple activities related to Engineering, Product Management and Operational support for new product developmentMulti-functional team member representing Product EngineeringTesting support and overview within a Product Evaluation LabWork closely with Field Application EngineeringOther duties as assigned.This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Experience in electrical connectors and the Aerospace & Defense industry.Experience in Filters, Fiber Optics, Micro-miniature and/or High Speed Data transfer a plusKnowledge in the use of high-performance thermoplastics, aluminums and copper alloys and the manufacturing requirements needed to utilize themKnowledge in MIL-DTL, Mil-STD and similar industry specifications and requirements.Experience in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS), Design for Manufacturability (dfM), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) principles.The ability to travel periodically (up to 20%)Safety is a core value at ITT.
