POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Product Design Engineer to oversee the design, development, and enhancement of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering and product development background, with a proven track record in successful product launches. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet customer needs and align with company goals.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Development:
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of innovative and complex products. Translate product requirements and specifications into scalable and efficient technical solutions.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and specifications.
Oversee the product development life cycle, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Identify and implement opportunities for product improvement and innovation.
Uphold engineering best practices and standards throughout the development process.
Project Management:
Develop and manage project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
Monitor progress, identify potential roadblocks, and ensure successful project execution.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts and facilitate communication between teams.
Technical Expertise:
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and provide effective solutions
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Implement and oversee rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure product reliability and performance.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, code, and technical decisions.
Stakeholder Collaboration/Communication:
Function as the primary point of contact for engineering-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Present technical concepts and project updates to senior management and other key stakeholders.
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and suppliers to ensure that designs are both producible and robust.
Perform risk analyses and presents findings to internal stakeholders
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field.
5 years of experience in product engineering
Strong understanding of product development processes, engineering best practices, and project management methodologies.
Proficiency in GD&T, Stack up Analysis, FEA, DFMEA and 3D Modeling.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Familiarity with the plumbing industry and products
