Product Design Technician - Level II
**DESCRIPTION** Creates and maintains specifications (drawings and models) of Cummins products per company, industry, national, and international standards, while positively impacting the organization's performance. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE):** + Report any work-related injury, illness, incident, or hazard. + Comply with HSE standards, policies, procedures, and regulations. + Engage in HSE training. + **Quality:** + Follow applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures. + Perform quality checks on material planning master data (lead time, order quantities, etc.). + Work with Quality to disposition non-conforming material in a timely manner. + **Delivery:** + Initiate purchase and work orders to support the demand plan. + Participate in allocation calls with Sourcing Manager, supplier, and other Cummins entities. + Work with suppliers to reduce lead time and order quantities. + Collaborate with Supply Chain Planners to reposition excess inventory. + Provide accurate, timely updates on inventory availability and back order recovery plans. + Manage part change requests and ramp up/down activities. + Reconcile order boards for critical suppliers and parts. + Support the Deliver Supplier Improvement Process initiative. + Document, communicate, and follow-up on action items impacting plan execution. + Take ownership and accountability for delivery of supplier schedules. + **Teamwork:** + Communicate effectively within the assigned team and with all support teams. + Complete training and personal development in line with business requirements and career goals. + Participate in improvement projects (quality, safety, process, material flow, etc.). **RESPONSIBILITIES** **Qualifications:** + **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** + High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience. + This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. + **Experience:** + Requires some work experience and intermediate level knowledge obtained through training or on-the-job experience. **Competencies:** + **Communicates Effectively:** Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. + **Customer Focus:** Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions. + **Drives Results:** Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances. + **Manages Complexity:** Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. + **Optimizes Work Processes:** Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. + **Values Differences:** Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Skills:** + **Materials Planning System Utilization:** Using the materials planning system to manage supply and demand plans, taking long-term corrective action on exception messages and other alerts based on root cause analysis. + **Part Change Control Management:** Evaluating and implementing engineering change requests to meet customer delivery requirements while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory. + **Plan for Every Part (PFEP):** Using PFEP principles to ensure delivery of the right part at the right time in the right quantity to the right place. + **Master Supply Scheduling:** Establishing and maintaining a valid Master Production Schedule for a family of products. + **Materials KPI Management:** Operating in relation to recent or historical outputs to determine next steps to drive improvement. **Technical Skills:** + Proficiency in CAD software (Creo) for mechanical design and analysis. + User-level knowledge in GD&T and P&ID. + Familiarity with Dimensional Variation Analysis and Finite Element Analysis. + Understanding of engineering standards and compliance requirements. **Additional Competencies:** + Strong problem-solving abilities in complex design challenges. + Effective communication for cross-functional collaboration. + Knowledge of configuration management and change tracking, and PLM tool (Windchill knowledge). + **Location:** APAC Region (Hybrid Working Model) **Shift:** 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM **Job** Engineering **Organization** Cummins Inc. **Role Category** Hybrid **Job Type** Office **ReqID** 2408836 **Relocation Package** No
