Position Summary:
Air Products Membrane Solutions, a division of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), is seeking a Product Designer to drive innovation and deliver competitive membrane products to the marketplace. Air Products Membrane Solutions is a global leader in membrane-based gas separation technologies, and we are committed to significant growth in sales revenue through new product development. The Product Designer will play a key role in developing new membrane products from concept to commercialization. This position involves transforming ideas into detailed CAD models and drawings while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless development and production.

Manufacturing and Engineering Personnel
Responsibilities include:
Design innovative pressure containment vessels by applying a strong understanding of mechanical principles, including flow direction and pressure differentials.
Develop solid models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Solidworks to take designs from concept to full documentation.
Maintain and manage Solidworks PDM to ensure the accuracy and organization of design files.
Design casting molds compatible with existing manufacturing infrastructure and coordinate with plant engineering for seamless implementation.
Conduct mechanical tests in laboratory environments, including setup, execution, and documentation of results.
Organize and maintain mechanical test labs, ensuring equipment and tools are operational.
Write test plans and allocate manufacturing resources to produce prototypes.
Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align designs with production capabilities, cost targets, and lead times.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in product or equipment design utilizing Solidworks.
Solidworks certifications are a plus.
Experience in Product Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) preferred.
Strong understanding of machining and fabrication processes, including their advantages and limitations.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across cultures and organizational levels.
Ability to travel domestically as required.
