Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

As a Product Developer in Design Hub, you need to have a big passion for developing the products for Asia Kids. This is a new way of working, where you will be the one in your team focusing on developing new and exciting products. You will drive the developments for the best product and constantly overview, evaluate, follow up and make suggestion of improvements. Your responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

Customer

Have a clear understanding of the customers' needs and a customer focus in the component and product development.

Goals & Strategies

Responsible to plan and execute the product development in line with the department strategy and timeline.With a focused component and product development method you contribute and ensure follow-up on the product and the department profitability and sustainability goals.

Component

Accountable to develop components and colors that are supporting the department strategy, visual goal, and keys. Work in close collaboration with the Product Designer, Pattern maker and Team lead.Responsible to deliver profitable and sustainable options in accordance with the department goals.Together with the Product Designer secure the component first process.

Product & Assortment

Accountable to execute an efficient component and product development and sample handling in terms of purpose of the product, profitability, and sustainability.Drive the quote process together with Team Lead. Responsible to plan and scrutinize.Request and secure the most suitable options based on the products value driver (price, material and look etc.). Close collaboration with the Team Lead and Product Designer.Ensure sustainable options for all relevant materials and components in accordance with the department goal.

Leadership & Process

Self-motivated and take ownership to learn and to seek opportunities to improve way of working within product development that is aligned with the department strategy and goals.

Qualifications

What you need to succeed: 

Education and Experience requirements

Degree within textile, buying, business or similar.At least 3 years' relevant work experience as a Product Developer or Buyer

Knowledge and Skill requirements

Fluency in both Chinese and English languagesProduct and component knowledge relevant for the department/categoryProficiently handle relevant tools and systemsClear understanding of production processes and the capabilities and limitations Knowledge of modular way of workingProven ability to organize workload, prioritize and to manage time efficiently 

Competency

A strong team player with great communication skillsResult oriented and used to work in a fast pace & flexible mindsetHave a passion for the Kids costumer in Asia with local relevant.Always see possibilities, improvements, and simple solutions, - Growth mindset.Have a strong salesmanship and commercial thinking.Have a good sense of fashion, trends and is strong on products.Have the courage to make decisions.
