Donaldson summer internships provide ambitious undergraduates the chance to gain real world experience in their field of study. We provide challenging, professional experience with a global corporation, where interns learn from and work alongside Donaldson employees. Internships take place at our global headquarters in Bloomington, MN, during an 10-12-week period.

As Product Development Engineering Intern, you will support the Power Generation product development team.

Responsibilities:

Assist in researching, conducting experiments, gathering data, and developing preliminary findings, and preparing written reports for further review.Collaborate with more experienced engineers to provide follow-up and engineering assistance on defined problems.Follows prescribed procedures and conducts analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.Filter testing: log test requests to internal/external labs, follow-up with lab, report resultsOutdoor test benches: ensure they remain up and running, maintain databaseRequest filters/parts for testing, coordinate with plant(s)/supplier(s)APD/CQP process coordination from product management/engineering perspectiveSupport the Power Generation Aftermarket team to customer technical inquiries

Minimum Qualifications:

Current undergraduate enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial EngineeringExperience in fluid mechanics work from either a prior internship/co-op/employment, or, in fluid dynamics university courseworkExperience with the Microsoft Office Suite programs: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word

Preferred Qualifications:

Able to manage multiple tasks at a time, with an interest in utilizing and advancing project management skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to work independently, as well as part of a teamAble to learn quickly and adapt to changing prioritiesResourceful, goal-oriented, self-starter/directedIntermediate-level experience (or greater) with Microsoft ExcelMinimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA
