Position Overview
The R&D Intern will assist with product development activities related to colorectal cancer screening. The position is intended to be a full-time opportunity for a science undergraduate to obtain hands-on laboratory experience in an industry leading research group while contributing to the overall company goals.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
Carry out basic laboratory experiments.Assist with general laboratory duties.Perform data analysis and generate conclusions.Present data to team members.Plan follow-up experiments.Work with various laboratory equipment, including automated liquid handlers.Display attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.Act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization.Scheduling requirements:
Ability to work fulltime and onsite in Madison, WI during the 2025 summer internship.Physical requirements:
Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 30% of a typical working day.Ability to work seated for approximately 30% of a typical working day. Ability to work standing for approximately 70% of a typical working day.Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for approximately 10% of a typical working day.Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment, including pipettes, centrifuges, sample mixers, and automation equipment for extended periods of time.May perform repetitive actions using lab tools.Ability to use near vision to view samples at close range.May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a field of Life Sciences.Preference given to candidates with a record of outstanding academic achievement.Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.#LI-AN1Salary Range:
$34,000.00 - $54,000.00The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis.
