The role
Project management. Team management. Stakeholder management. These are three core areas of your role as a Product Development Manager. Get these right and you’ll be able to successfully ensure our teams run smoothly, providing business continuity and supporting critical business events. And as part of the department leadership team, you’ll also contribute strategic insights and operational improvements that boost team success – plus morale, profile and reputation.
You’ll oversee aspects of project delivery in a highly collaborative and agile framework, providing ongoing communication to ensure that progress is transparent and aligned to the quality and standards expected by the stakeholders and IT governance. This particular role focuses on the fast-paced delivery of both UI Optimisation via A/B Testing and configuration and setup of integrating client and server side tags/pixels.
Day-to-day, your responsibilities will include:
Line managing and coaching a squad of Mainframe Developers Managing a portfolio of application development projects from start to finish Responding to business demands for greater analytical and reporting capabilities Delivering specific departmental data solutions Identifying and validate business requirements as well as strategic business drivers Budget control Communicating project progress and issues Agreeing appropriate design standards, methods and tools Ensuring quality and governance processes are followed
What we’re looking for:
Proven track record in a Mainframe Technical environment Extensive experience of managing complex projects and portfolios Strong senior stakeholder management skills Strong leadership skills, with previous team management experience Excellent communication skills Knowledge and experience of development in a ZOS, CICS, COBOL etc. environment would be a huge advantage Exposure to Agile practices specifically Scrum and Kanban
