The Product Development Specialist will work across the Multi-family and Commercial Lighting Portfolio. And will collaborate closely with the Director of Product Development and Sales Teams to deliver a full range of products tailored to the multi-family and commercial lighting space!
Location: This is a Hybrid role based out of Corona, CA or McDonough, GA, in accordance with company policy of 3 days in Office and 2 days Remote.
May consider Remote or relocation for the right individual.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Product development, sourcing, lifecycle management
+ Drive research, development, execution and profitability for the multi-family and commercial lighting portfolio
+ Understand the marketplace, competitive landscape and ability to analyze competitor offerings for gaps and opportunities.
+ This will be a group role initially focusing on RP Lighting, but will also provide support to Millennium and Minka Brands as needed.
+ A key part of this role will be managing compliance with UL/ETL, DOE, CEC Title 20 and Title 24, Prop 65, MaedBs, Energy Star, FCC, Dark Sky, IC rating, regional restrictions and ensuring new PD compliance as part of the product development process will be essential.
+ Stay abreast of changes in compliance requirement, Implement improvements and streamline compliance UL/ ETL and other testing across own brand lighting. In collaboration with Ferguson Global.
+ Works in parallel with cross functional team members through the stage gate process on the product timeline to ensure that launch dates and objectives are adequately met for each channel
+ Recommends priorities and drive synergies across our brands and within the different channels
+ Provide competitive insight and recommendations
+ Collaborates on strategy and business plans
+ Ensure accurate and competitive pricing across the category.
+ Produce pricing guidelines, consistent with the overall pricing strategy.
+ Overseas the product, lifecycle management from inception to end of life
+ Works with the sourcing team for optimizing assortment and development of new suppliers
+ Collaborates with support functions to ensure efficient and effective sales, marketing, and service processes
+ Assist in negotiating product specifications
+ Engages in the Sales and Operations Planning process to provide input
+ Working collaboratively with cross functional partners to improve forecast accuracy, reduced finish goods, inventory, and prune on productive SKUs.
+ Collaborate on go to market strategy, launch and commercialization
+ Enjoys intellectual challenges in a fast-paced dynamic work environment
+ Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and availability for regulatory submissions audit and new product launch.
+ Responsible for a full range of accurate assets and date for launch.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Data Management, Math, Statistics or related field; advanced degree preferred.
+ Proven experience in Product Development, preferably in lighting (e.g., UL, ETL, US DOE, US FCC guidelines).
+ Ideally you will have experience in sourcing and delivering product to the Multi-family and Commercial marketplace.
+ Experience with overseas factory and willing to travel to Asia as required. Estimate 1 time per year.
+ Willing to travel within USA for meetings as required.
+ Strong experience with data management systems, regulatory submission tools, and Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present data clearly and effectively.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

**Pay Range:**

$4,799.70 - $8,571.20
