Product Director, Service

Commercial & Operations global function ensures that KONE is most competitive in each of our businesses, throughout the lifecycle. ​The function consists of the business lines (New Building Solutions, Service and Modernization) and global installation, business architecture and portfolio management, sales development, marketing and brand and business development.

Service Solutions unit (Service Business IT) within the Commercial & Operations Solutions is accountable for the IT solutions across Service Business, and thus playing a key role in the Accelerate Digital strategic shift, Service Transformation initiatives as well as ensuring the development and operations of the capabilities that e.g. Service sales, field technicians, supervisors, customer service and technical help desk are using every day.

As Product Director, Service Business IT, you will be leading the unit and be accountable for creating winning product strategy, including long term vision and product/service roadmaps to reach that vision. Your success is measured by business outcomes and true customer value we generate. 

You will lead an organization comprising of approximately 30 IT products, some directly by yourself and some organized in Product groups lead by Product Managers. In addition to the product leadership, you will also be the line manager of the Product Managers and Product owners of those products that you own directly. Product Owners lead the agile teams, developing applications and services with scaled agile development model.

As the head of the unit, you are accountable for the unit’s deliveries, their quality and operational efficiency. Continuous improvement of the unit’s operational performance and maturity are key indicators of your individual success.

You, together with the stakeholders, will set the annual and quarterly objectives for the unit. You will establish metrics and specify key results against the metrics, to indicate the unit’s success in reaching the set objectives.

You are an inspirational leader with strong background in leading IT development.

You will report to Head of IT, Commercial&Operations and be part of the Commercial & Operations Solutions leadership team. Job is in Espoo, Finland. We offer flexible working time and remote working opportunities – however, as most of your business stakeholders, team members and Commercial & Operations Solutions leadership team colleagues are located in KONE headquarters in Keilaniemi, Espoo, it is most efficient to collaborate at the office most of the working days.

Main Responsibilities

Define and drive product strategy for Service Solutions / Service Business IT unitDrive and maintain product roadmaps for the unitConfiguration of the unit’s for execution efficiencyDrive and prioritize unit’s continuous improvement actionsDefine and follow-up the annual and quarterly objectives and KPIs for the unit and the unit’s agile teamsManage stakeholder relationships with the Service business unit of Commercial & OperationsLine management of your unit

To succeed in this role

You have strong digital product management experience and proof of leading successfully cross-functional teams in an international multisite environmentYou have digital acumen and knowledge of key digital technologies (cloud, data, analytics, digital services and technology platforms such as Salesforce and SAP)You possess a strong commercial and business mindset, and capability to quantify customer value and business benefits for IT-effortsYou have great collaboration skills across IT and business stakeholders being able to cut through organizational boundaries and complexitiesYou motivate and inspire people towards the commonly agreed targets and excel in setting the direction and creating clarity in scaled agile environment.

The desired candidate will have

Demonstrated leadership in the practice of Product Management through having a minimum of 10 years product leadership experience e.g. as Product Owner, Product Manager or Product Director with proven track record of developing the practice and creating successful multi-year roadmaps, and minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading product groups in Product Manager or Product Director role.Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading IT business in and IT services company or IT delivery organization and people within corporate ITMinimum of 10 years of line management experience, and 5 years of leading line managersMinimum of 10 years of agile leadership experience in practiceProven experience on leading and scaling successfully digital customer-facing products in global scaleStrong background in service business within the manufacturing industryDesign and data-driven decision making, complex problem-solving skills, capability to cut the elephant into piecesExperience in working in large international multisite environment with high performing technology businessProven ability to engage with developers, designers, and company leaders in an inspiring, constructive and collaborative relationship
