Product Engineer

Position Overview The Product Engineer will work with dealers on SQ’s during the vehicle ordering process. This position will assist the dealer with spec’ing the correct truck to satisfy the end user application and/or vocation. Position also works closely with Truck Equipment Manufacturers (TEM) to facilitate body mounting and ordering. Responsibilities The Product Engineer will work across all the appropriate Product Lines to gain a thorough and complete understanding of vehicles and how they are used by our customers in the field. • Build and maintain relationships, through daily dialog, with dealers, TEM’s customers, internal functional groups and custom engineer personnel. • Act as the liaison between the dealer, placing an order for the customer, and the internal community for resolution of Special Quotations (SQ’s) generated by the dealer during the ordering process. • Use of available tools to investigate the order being placed, understanding vehicle/feature compatibilities, and proposing alternative solutions to issues encountered by dealers during the ordering process. • Participate in program and VA reviews as appropriate. • Work in, and support, the SQ process, and propose process improvements to help streamline International’s response time and quality answers to dealers and customers. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies OR Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies OR PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science At least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experience At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
