Introduction
We are seeking a Product Engineer to join the Industrial Operations’ R&D Team in Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy Business Line, in the Services Business Area. As a team, we develop and maintain the most important components, spare parts, materials and modernization products. The main purpose of the role is to perform new product development and design, product engineering and drive technological development actions in your area of responsibility. In this position, you will report to Director, R&D, located in Finland.
The preferred working location for this position is in Lappeenranta or Espoo (Finland), and we are also happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Please note that occasional travel is required in this position.
What you’ll do
Develop and design new products and solutions for Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy Business Line needs, mainly concentrating on polymer product design and development Search for new innovative ways to secure our customer and internal stakeholder satisfaction in component and modernization solutions Ensure and support item management practices and documentation for newly developed products Support product changes during the product lifecycle in your responsibility area Support and implement “design for manufacturing” and “design for services” principles Create and manage product documentation in your responsibility area Train, guide and support other stakeholders and teams in your area of responsibility
Who you are
Minimum a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field such as Mechanical Engineering. Equivalent skills with a proven track record will also be considered. You are technology-oriented, motivated and willing to learn new and positively question old Proactive, innovative mindset and a hands-on approach to technology and product development You are not afraid of getting some dirt in your hands and doing experimental work Preferably a few years of previous working experience in development, mechanical design and engineering tasks Experience with relevant engineering tools, such as SolidWorks or other similar mechanical design software, and familiarity with EDM/PDM systems. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English. Finnish language skills are seen as an advantage. You have a collaborative working style and communicate effortlessly with all stakeholders in a multinational and diverse work environment. Know-how and engineering experience in polymeric materials, especially plastics and rubber is seen as an advantage Know-how in polymer products manufacturing is seen as an advantage
