Qualifications:

Graduate of BS Mechanical/Electrical or any related Engineering discipline. Experience working in commodity-based product design is an advantage. Preferably familiar with basic automotive components. Familiarity with UG-NX, CATIA, or any 3D Modeling CAD software is an advantage. Good understanding of product design concepts including Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), Tolerance Analysis. Demonstrated ability to apply engineering fundamentals to find simple solutions to complex problems. Has a good interpersonal skill, creative, can work individually as well as with a team. Can work with minimum supervision, willing to do overtime and work schedule flexibility as needed. Fast learner and self-initiated individual. Regular employee, and at least one (1) year in the present position.

 

Position Objectives:

Design new product commodity FlexAir for sustainable comfort padding systems to balance complex tradeoffs between cross functional teams including plastic extrusion, cutting, and molding process manufacturing plants, seat complete development, Trim development, and metal structures. Generate detailed CAD models, specifications, and documentation of guidelines/procedure. Prototype, test and analyze component and create predictive models to correlate with physical product. Support to validate product performance and iterate designs to achieve targets. Perform root cause analysis of performance failures and drive corrective actions. Work directly with the US Southfield innovation team to ensure design of product are properly manufactured, assembled, and meet specifications. Facilitate design for manufacturing meetings with US Innovation team and process review. Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
