Product Engineer Lead - 3D

As a Lead Product Engineer, 3D, the role requires extensive hands-on experience in various 3D software and advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine visual development, technical capabilities, and optimization processes.  Responsibilities include supervising the complete 3D production pipeline, collaborating with creative teams, and conducting technical audits to ensure high-end photorealistic renderings. 

Please note this is not a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering role.

You will:  

Intake and process complex CAD and/or FBX files for final use in Unreal Engine   Import and verify the 3D model and textures in Unreal Engine   Identify and correct geometry and texture mapping issues   Assign and optimize textures in multiple lighting scenarios   Manage vehicle model variations and material library in Unreal Engine   Render high-quality, photo-real prototypes and fidelity samples   Execute rigging and animation in Unreal Engine, correct faults if needed   Model, texture and animate key elements to be used in UE environments   Build custom 3D environments  at various scales Set up and animate weather and lighting in 3D scenes Place and animate virtual cameras   Utilize AI production processes for environment and set building Continuously optimize 3D workflow tracks
Participate in Real-Time Virtual Production sessions Supervise team members Contribute during creative ideation and project planning Drive design reviews and Real-Time Virtual Production sessions Collaborate with Art Directors Eliminate technical constraints to achieve creative goals Report on progress and moderate between creative and 3D artists Provide concise and constructive feedback to 3D artists Estimate level of effort for team members

 

You have: 

5+ years of experience in Maya 3D (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Rhino is a plus)  3+ years experience in Cinema 4D   3+ years of experience in Unreal Engine   Good blueprints knowledge is required, C++ experience is a bonus   Worked in automotive and with high-end rendering pipelines (Arnold and Redshift)   Understanding film, real-time development, and virtual production   Proficiency with post-production and VFX pipelines   Rendering knowledge with a focus on real-time and near real-time Evident leadership and team building skills In-depth knowledge of the latest 3D and Unreal Engine best practices
