The Eco Design & IMDS Lead will be responsible for leading a team in managing and maintaining Material Compliance Programs for the automotive industry. The role involves reviewing IMDS (International Material Data System) reports, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, laws, and customer-specific requirements. The lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams and act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful execution of eco-design and material compliance initiatives.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Management Expertise: Utilize 8-9 years of significant experience in material management, specifically within the automotive industry, to review and manage IMDS reports, ensuring they meet customer and regulatory standards.IMDS and Compliance Reporting: Review IMDS reports in line with customer requirements and regulations (REACH, ELV, BPR) and manage product stewardship requests.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as procurement, engineering, and compliance to gather relevant product data and ensure compliance with OEM requirements.Supplier Guidance: Provide guidance to suppliers on IMDS submissions according to specific OEM standards and ensure proper documentation for compliance.Regulatory Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with GADSL substance lists and ensure the business adheres to material compliance regulations.Project Management: Deliver assignments and projects on time, within budget, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.Product Technical Expertise: Read and understand technical drawings and manage product-related queries with precision.Data Management: Assist in the gathering and management of data for the company’s Material Compliance Programs.Compliance Documentation: Create, maintain, and update Import and Export Compliance manuals and ensure adherence to outlined procedures.Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including customers, to ensure clear communication and compliance tracking.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Experience: Minimum 7-9 years of experience in material management and IMDS, with a focus on the automotive industry.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of materials such as plastics, metals, electronics, and textiles, along with a good understanding of GADSL substance lists.Soft Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, able to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.What we can do for you At Forvia, you will find an engaging and dynamic environment where you can contribute to the development of sustainable mobility leading technologies.  We are the seventh-largest global automotive supplier, employing more than 157,000 people in more than 40 countries which makes a lot of opportunity for career development. We welcome energetic and agile people who can thrive in a fast-changing environment.
