Product Finishing Training Specialist

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Product Finishing Training Specialist is responsible for coordination of all aspects of employee training within the Product Finishing departments. This role will schedule, train, observe, evaluate, document, and manage training and learning for new employees, changes in employee roles, and ongoing training. The Product Finishing Training Specialist supports the maintenance, implementation, and enhancement of the training program within Operations. CORE DUTIES: 1. Train and mentor employees to perform the required functions of a specific job through one on one and/or group training formats. 2. Assign On the Job Trainers or provide direct hands on training to employees. 3. Coordinates employee training assignment and timely completion of training tasks and documentation. 4. Maintains and demonstrates high level of honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. 5. Provide a high level of both intradepartmental and interdepartmental customer service and communication. 6. Provide area Supervisor with feedback on trainee progress. 7. Maintain communications with area Supervisors to ensure proper balance and timeliness of training and production priorities. 8. Updates electronic and or paper based systems to ensure training and documentation requirements are met. 9. Represent Product Finishing on projects outside of the immediate work group. 10. Provide assistance with internal and external audits. 11. Responsible for the preparations of materials and room set up as well as other clerical duties associated with preparation and implementation of the training program. 12. Provide backup to Quality Assurance Training Specialist and training group. 13. Assist with Product Finishing tasks and other duties, as assigned. 14. Delivers small or large group training sessions. 15. Maintains and updates employee training records. Proficiently utilizes electronic training management system (EtQ) to create, modify, and approve employee training roles and documentation. 16. Identify, recommend, and/or lead intradepartmental process and program improvement opportunities. 17. Stays current with company and industry adult learning and training trends. 18. Understands and complies with all elements of the Promega Quality System outlined for the position. 19. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. 20. High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role, with six years of product finishing or related experience or Associates Degree with four years of related work experience or a Bachelor’s degree with one year of related work experience. 2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skill with the ability to maintain constructive working relationships. 3. Training, teaching, education, coaching, and/or counseling experience. 4. Demonstrated ability to recognize different learning styles and adapt as needed. 5. Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at one time. 6. Excellent level of attention to detail. Ability to consistently work accurately. 7. Self-motivated and ability to work independently with little supervision. 8. Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities. 9. Ability to proficiently use computers and electronic interfaces. Electronic Quality Systems (e.g. EtQ), electronic Document Management Systems (e.g. EtQ), Microsoft Word, Excel, HMI’s, and Outlook. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Demonstrated competency may be substituted for years of experience. 2. At least one year of science or laboratory background in a production environment with exposure to various production and packaging equipment. 3. Experience in a cGMP production environment. 4. Experience working with the performance evaluation process. 5. Ability to facilitate and manage group training sessions. 6. Previous experience working with confidential information. 7. Experience in all areas of Product Finishing. (Labeling, Dispensing, and Kit Packaging) PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to work in a clean room environment. 2. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, lab coat, etc.). 3. Ability to work in a laboratory environment. 4. Ability to work in an office environment. 5. Manual dexterity to dispense product. 6. Ability to manually manipulate objects weighing up to 50 lbs. 7. Ability to move up to 300 lbs. using a dolly and 500 lbs. using a pallet jack occasionally. 8. Ability to transition between ambient and freezers up to -20 degrees C. 9. Ability to remain stationary for several hours at a time. 10. Ability to position oneself in low positions multiple times per day. 11. Ability to move in repetitive motions throughout shift. 12.
