Job Overview  

COO Risk sits right at the core of the Bank’s operations. We translate our complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements regarding Credit and Market Risk. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory reporting needs. COO Risk delivers systems and data solutions with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment. We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank.

We are looking for a Product lead who has an end-to-end strategic focus around our services and leads our squads in terms of clear prioritization, accountability and capabilities. The Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together, the what and the how, with an end-to-end transformation responsibility. You work not only on delivery and on how we run a product, but also on creating a vision on how we improve our services, how we manage the business value and how we increase collaboration across functions.

You do that by steering squads who work on a specific service by providing them with a strategic direction, by coaching them on the job, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders. The people who work in the squads report to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best. You set direction, you help them to develop their craftsmanship and you have continuous conversations about their career development. As a Product Lead you report hierarchically to the Tribe Lead

Key Responsibilities

As a Product Lead, you:

Actively manage all internal parties and projects to successfully deliver upon the initiatives of your domainTake ownership of a number of regulatory transformation initiatives, as well as various internally-driven projects for a diverse group of stakeholdersBe the hierarchical manager of a team of IT Business Analysts, as well as functionally steering our IT EngineersBe able to work in a collaborative and highly complex setting across functionsBe able to influence other teams outside of your own area or even your departmentAble to take responsibility, steer strategy and execute changes based on facts and data; with managerial courage to question and make decisionsBuild the craftsmanship of the employees in the team

Drive and manage change programs in an international context and master complex financial content within your tribe (eg: market risk, credit risk, operating risk, analytics)Lead and deliver complex (multi-year) change programs on program level – covering multiple countries / functional departmentsCommunicate effectively to senior management, in which you can adapt your style and the content of your communication to the needs of others you work with. Minimum Qualifications

Hands on experience with data analytics, and tooling. Including SQL and also SAS, or another (statistical) programming language.Proven experience in transformation programs and relevant change execution experienceExperience in defining strategies and policies in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time framesProficient expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary initiatives, ideally involving topics like banking and technologyA proven track record in process management and backlog management, with experience in project management being highly desirableExperience in explaining complex issues in an easy-to-understand way to get people on board, including by using your strong analytical skillsHave a ‘can do’ mentality, proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mileProven track record at management level and experience in BankingEducation at University with a (Master) degree in a related study (e.g. Business Administration, Technology, Finance)An excellent level of English
