Job Overview

COO Risk sits right at the core of the Bank’s operations. We translate our rather complex banking business exposures into impact on risk weighted assets and provisions in line with the constantly changing business desires and the latest regulatory requirements. We also provide important insights in NFR and Compliance topics and cater for corresponding regulatory reporting needs. COO Risk delivers baseline and change activities for the Risk Organization with the purpose to drive our partners to maximize value in a safe & compliant environment. We play a critical role at ING and service all business lines, CROs and COOs of the Bank. COO Risk is committed to take explicit ownership of the end-to-end execution of regulatory transformation initiatives.

To deliver on these ambitious promises, we are looking for a Product lead who has an end-to-end strategic focus around our services and leads our squads in terms of clear prioritization, accountability and capabilities. The Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together, the what and the how, with an end-to-end transformation responsibility. You work not only on delivery and on how we run a product, but also on creating a vision on how we improve our services, how we manage the business value and how we increase collaboration across functions.

You do that by steering squads who work on a specific service by providing them with a strategic direction, by coaching them on the job, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders. The people who work in the squads report to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best. You set direction, you help them to develop their craftsmanship and you have continuous conversations about their career development. As a Product Lead you report hierarchically to the Tribe Lead.

As part of COO Risk, the Credit Risk Tribe focuses on delivery of all change initiatives impacting Vortex, SME Classification, Scoping Engine and I-Care and Cost & Recovery. Besides, the tribe is responsible for operating and maintaining these applications. The tribe holds a dynamic work environment and houses many specialists in the field of credit risk and IT. The Credit Risk squads are grouped into six Products: Retail, Wholesale Banking & Business banking, Data Management, Group Finance & Risk, Vortex Core Stability, and Global Credit Restructuring. You will head the Global Credit Restructuring Product group, which consists of two squads.

Within the Credit Risk tribe, your focus will be on all demand coming from Global Credit Restructuring, Model development, Data remediation team and other stakeholders. This implies that you are responsible for maintaining and improving the applications I-Care and Cost & Recovery, which are also the two squads that hierarchically report to you. Lastly, you will actively manage all internal parties to successfully deliver upon the initiatives.

Key Responsibilities  

As a Product Lead, you:

Minimum Qualifications

Required skills and experiences:

Experience in IT Application ManagementProven experience in transformation programs with high impact and relevant change execution experience preferably with international exposureExperience in defining strategies and policies in order to set and deliver objectives within medium to long time framesProficient expertise in driving and steering multidisciplinary initiativesA proven track record in process management, backlog management and resource planningExperience in explaining complex issues in an easy-to-understand way to get people on board, including by using your strong analytical skillsHave a ‘can do’ mentality, proactive, resourceful, and willing to go the extra mileProven track record at management level and experience in BankingEducation at University with a Master degree in a related study (e.g. Business Administration, Information Management, Finance)An excellent grasp of English, written and verbally
