The OpportunityGlobal External Manufacturing supervises parts and products in the diagnostic workflow produced by external suppliers. This includes new product development, product care, supply assurance, and supplier selection and maintenance, in collaboration with Procurement.
As a Product Lead External Manufacturing Consumables, you focus on designated products, working within an interdisciplinary team to cover all vital activities. You interact with Suppliers, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, System Development, and Business Management, ensuring continuous learning and development. You also exercise leadership and leverage team intelligence, using your communication and presentation skills to visualize sophisticated interdependencies for informed decision-making.
As a Product Lead External Manufacturing Consumables, you will be responsible for the following topics:
Accountable for full supply of assigned products while ensuring a sustainable cost structure and necessary quality and compliance
Chair Product Meetings with supplier and sub-suppliers
Chair the Squad and provide necessary leadership to the team members and ensure a clear, strategic Squad view on prioritization and OneRoche mindset
Align the Squad strategy with relevant stakeholders within the Roche and Supplier networks
Act as the final decision maker within the Squad
Own and maintain product documentation and assets during the Product Life Cycle
Who you areUniversity degree in Engineering, Natural Science, or related disciplines with relevant years of experience in IVD product management and production engineering. Knowledge of process management methodologies and IVD-related regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, IVDR, FDA 21 CFR part 820)
Experience in IVD product development, including design control, manufacturing, and testing
Ability to think strategically and systemically, with a willingness to try new ideas and participate in changes
Proven leadership skills, including consensus building and conflict management. Ability to effectively communicate across all organizational levels and build rapport, with executive presence under pressure. Excellent communication skills in German and English
Demonstrating operating principles: putting patients first, following the science, acting as one team, embracing differences, accelerating learning, simplifying radically, making an impact now, and thinking long-term. Self-motivated, autonomous, structured, and goal-oriented mindset with a balance of short-term mitigation and long-term solutions.
Willing to travel 10-20%.
