For merchants it’s essential to get paid, either in store or online. The Product Lead Getting Paid is responsible for all ING DBNL “getting paid” solutions including Point of Sale (PoS) in store, Sepa Direct Debit (“Incasso”), eMandate, iDEAL Acquiring and our new ecommerce solution ING Checkout.
These are important features for our customers and it’s crucial for our customers that we provide a reliable, smooth, and innovative service.
The Product Lead is a position where all elements of a product come together with an end-to-end responsibility. You define how we manage the business value and how we deliver a differentiating customer experience. You do this by steering squads who work on the product by providing them with a strategic direction, defining the product roadmap and by managing stakeholders around the product. Customer Journey Experts who work in the squads report hierarchically to you, which means it is your job to empower them to thrive and perform at their best and coach them on the job. You set direction, provide strategic clarity, you help Customer Journey Experts to develop their craftsmanship and you have continuous conversations about their career development.
As a Product Lead Getting Paid you are responsible for the availability and the reliability of instore and online payments. That means that risks and incidents need to be mitigated and clear processes need to be in place. Next to that you are responsible to make sure we offer future-proof services. That means that you need to be aware of all the trends and decide on the strategic direction. That requires clear prioritization via the agile way of working.
The team
The team consists of 4 squads. The 11 Customer Journey Experts (CJEs) of these squads report hierarchically to the Product Lead. Your role is based in Amsterdam and you will report to the Product Area Lead Payments Products
Roles and responsibilities
As a Product Lead, you:
Own a product (end-to-end), which means you are accountable for the product vision, including functionality, technology, user experience design and commercial vision and for the reliability of the product, including risk
Take collective ownership of the product, including engineering and architecture aspects
Perform analyses to stay on top of market trends, to ensure product’s competitive position
Manage and continuously refine delivery roadmap of the product and prioritise the product backlog
Focus on delivery through collaboration, ability to bring people together to work towards the same purpose, this also includes other stakeholders from outside the product.
Take responsibility, steer strategy and realisations based on facts and data, and display managerial courage to question and make decisions.
Ensure adherence to Process Control Standards
Build the craftmanship of the employees in the team
Ensure compliancy with relevant regulation and internal/external requirements
Are the hierarchical manager of a team of Customer Journey Experts, working in multiple squads organized around your product
