Amazon’s Softlines Private Brands (SPB) team is currently seeking a talented, dynamic and detail-oriented Product Manager based out of Tokyo, JP.
As a Product Manager, Business Manager in SPB, you will be responsible for setting and implementing brand and growth strategy, and improving processes to scale with rapid business growth. This business manager will relish the opportunity to build a business-driving strategic vision and operational excellence. This role interacts with the design, product development, in-stock management, and sourcing teams, and business partners across Amazon Retail for Amazon Private Brands.
Key job responsibilities
· Grow a division that reflects the preferences of a specific consumer segment, considering price, quality, visual aesthetic, lifestyle and other factors. Partner with product development teams to build product assortments.
· Grow the business by driving and implementing strategic initiatives to reach the company’s financial goals.
· Partner with Instock/Planning to meet operational goals.
· Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch of new features.
· Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve tools and productivity.
Must Haves:
1. Ability to deal with ambiguity and multiple, competing priorities.
2. Comfortable collaborating and influencing team members including retail, sourcing, and product development counterparts.
3. Financial and analytical acumen, proven ability to deep dive drivers behind category trends, P&L experience.
4. Ability to leverage market trends, customer needs, and emerging technology into long term category strategy plans.
Nice to Haves:
1. Experience building and executing on new initiatives and roadmaps each year.
2. Experience managing product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization.
3. Experience creating category strategies based on competitive landscapes and gap analyses
What are the expected key deliverables for this position in the first year?
• Delivering topline growth and profitability improvements for the category
• Delivering a 3-year product strategy
• Ramping new product launches and improving overall productivity of the category
