Product Manager, II - Marketing Privacy, Compliance and Addressability

**About the Role**
The Communications Platforms & Intelligence team enables Uber to engage with its customers across all channels, regions, business lines, and end-users through billions of real-time, intelligent, personalized interactions each year.
Our team builds the systems, API's and mobile libraries that allow hundreds of teams within Uber to send billions of email, sms, push, and in-app messages every year.
As part of our efforts to continue being a leader in privacy-compliant marketing we are looking for a dedicated PM who can partner with Marketing, Technology and Legal / Privacy teams to support the ever-changing environment of privacy regulations. This PM will have strong consumer-oriented Product skills allowing them to build, test, and iterate experiences that help Uber’s users set effective preferences across a number of Marketing channels.
They will be responsible for defining and prioritizing business requirements across a range of stakeholders and partnering with technology to bring these capabilities to life. They will partner with the legal and privacy teams to develop a strategy and build out a product roadmap that will enable Uber marketing and product teams to engage with our users in a compliant experience. Deep understanding in privacy and compliance regulations is highly desirable specifically around CAN-SPAM, CASAL, CPRA, CCPA, DMA and GDPR.
This PM will also manage the Uber preference centers and consent management for different communications channels while partnering with our marketing teams to execute strategies to maximize our total addressable audience.
**What the Candidate Will Do**
- Work with our Marketing, Product and Legal teams to understand and define privacy and compliance requirements on marketing communication and evaluate use cases and test cases, including business impact/value.
- Deeply understand the business needs and use that lens to organize and prioritize the technology roadmap
- Build the Legal and Privacy backlog and roadmap of regulation impacts and open risks
- Strong collaboration with the marketing, legal, and martech team in order to deliver against the strategic goals
- Understand how our end-users interact with different channels (Push, SMS, Email)
- Understand Uber’s core product (app and web) and the nuances of each channel to make sure our platforms reliably deliver each message on time to ensure delightful and relevant customer experiences.
- Use data to prioritize high impact initiatives across multiple stakeholders.
- Drive a cross-functional team of Engineers, Data Scientists and Analysts to set qualitative objectives and quantitative goals and ship quality products.
- Develop a vision and roadmap, plan deliverables, design, and launch products
- Clearly communicate plans, insights, data, and results to executives, other product teams, cross-functional teams such as marketing, operations, finance
- Evangelize the platforms within global organizations including marketing, ops, product
**Basic Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience in a Product role building high impact scalable platforms in the digital advertising / communications space.
- Strong expertise in marketing consent management enterprise solutions and standing up those capabilities
- Has prior experience working with privacy experts, legal teams, privacy technology teams to build and deploy capabilities for compliance needs.
- Basic understanding of how different communication channels (Email, Push, SMS) work.
- Strong hypothesis building, experimentation and problem solving skills. Is comfortable getting their hands dirty with large amounts of data and running independent analysis. Should enjoy and succeed at working with PhD level scientists.
- Has prior experience prioritizing projects across multiple stakeholders based on business impact, creating product roadmaps, and communicating product vision and results to leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience with working with cross functional teams such as Engineering, Applied Science and Analysts
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams Passion for learning new technologies, domains, and challenging the status quo.
- Grit, drive and a strong feeling of ownership coupled with collaboration.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in C.S. / Engineering and / or MBA.
- Basic understanding of technologies like Kafka, Hadoop, or Hive and iOS / Android ecosystem.
- A good understanding of how to create an experimentation framework to solve problems.
- A good understanding of the privacy and compliance landscape across the world and how it impacts users and business.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$149,000 per year - USD$165,500 per year.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber’s cultural identity.
