Product Manager – Strategic Planning Platform, Technology COO Office
Bloomberg
Ensuring that we can track our top-level strategies and outcomes across all our business lines to make informed decisions at executive level is key to the continued success of Bloomberg.
As a result, we are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the design and development of our Strategic Planning Platform. This platform will enable Bloomberg's executive team to make informed decisions and track top-level strategies and outcomes across all portfolios. The platform will tightly integrate with our strategic business planning and periodic review processes. It will serve senior partners' needs while giving all employees clarity on how their work connects to the company's strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate has (or can build) a strong network at Bloomberg and understands the data and information needs of our senior department heads. You excel at distilling complex requirements into simple, effective solutions while maintaining focus on core user needs—even when faced with competing feature requests. Your strength lies in creating seamless, user-centered experiences through thoughtful prioritization and conclusive leadership.
This role requires evaluating the optimal approach to address transparency and decision-making challenges by resolving whether to:
+ Buy a third-party enterprise software solution
+ Leverage an open-source framework and customize it for enterprise needs
+ Build a custom in-house solution from the ground up
We'll trust you to:
+ Define and lead the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for the platform in collaboration with our COO, CFO, and Senior Leaders
+ Assess solutions for improving decision-making transparency, weighing third-party platforms,
+ open-source frameworks, and custom development options
+ Drive alignment with user needs through executive-level reporting, KPI tracking, and business performance insights
+ Collaborate with UX and Engineering to map workflows, address difficulties, and design information architecture that encourages desired behaviors
+ Bring in successful methodologies from similarly structured companies, in performance tracking, strategic scenario modelling, and business metric management
+ Apply best-in-class product management techniques including:
+ Creating product requirements that balance usability, data complexity, and executive insights
+ Working with Engineering, Design, and Data teams to build scalable, intuitive solutions
+ Prioritizing initiatives based on customer needs, feasibility, and business impact
+ Conducting user research through interviews, analytics, and prototypes
+ Leading agile development for quick iteration and delivery
You'll need to have:
+ 5+ years in Product Management, ideally in B2B SaaS, enterprise reporting, or similar strategic tools.
+ Deep understanding of how large organizations track performance, forecast outcomes, and make executive decisions.
+ Strong experience in requirement gathering and refinement, particularly for complex data-heavy products.
+ Experience evaluating and making recommendations on build vs. buy vs. open-source solutions for enterprise software.
+ Proven track record in collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, design, marketing, and customer success teams.
+ Hands-on experience with data visualization, reporting tools, or analytics platforms
+ Experience in executive customer management, ensuring product solutions resonate with C-suite users.
We'd love to see:
+ Background in finance, corporate strategy, or business intelligence.
+ Familiarity with AI-powered decision support systems or predictive analytics.
+ You can partner with senior and junior collaborators alike, finding creative and elegant solutions to the problems presented, and don't just "do what you are asked".
+ Experience with designing and tracking against business and product strategies.
