In this position you will work onsite or remotely with colleagues across the business and across the world. You will be involved in a broad range of varied projects and will get great exposure and visibility within the company. This is a newly created position so there is a real opportunity for you to put your own stamp on it. This role provides the opportunity to grow within the Software Product Management team as a domain authority and people leader as well as across the Thermo Fisher organization. This position is eligible for remote work. 

 

Discover Impactful Work: 

In this lead product management role, your primary responsibility will be leading the software requirements and development of ground breaking software solutions for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s analytical instruments, meeting and exceeding the needs of regulated markets.  Your role will involve developing user-friendly software for quantitative LC-MS applications, enabling users to efficiently and accurately acquire, process, and review results. 

 

What will you do? 

Work with hardware product managers to convert product needs into software requirements.Lead cross-functional product development teams in aspects associated with product definition and product development.  Customer activities, assess market trends and competition offerings to develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s business advantage and build product requirements. Keep the software fresh and innovative as best serves usability and regulatory requirements.Maintain documentation per our new product development and introduction (NPDI) process, including product requirements, user stories for development, and intellectual property reviews. Represent the product in presentations, publications, and customer labs worldwide. 

 

Keys to Success:  

Education: 

BS Degree required.MS or Ph.D. preferred.

Experience:  

Extensive experience with LC-MS hardware and accompanying quantitative software solutions is required with hands-on experience using Triple Quadrupole, Q-TOF, and/or Orbitrap MS systems being highly preferred.Deep understanding of mass spectrometry techniques and their applications to both small and large molecule analysis, as well as other analytical techniques is desired. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) is important to effectively lead the development of LC-MS quantitative software. Knowledge of agile methodologies, requirements gathering, software testing, and quality assurance processes is valuable.Laboratory experience with GxP environment, documentation and regulatory compliance in the biotech/biopharmaceutical industry is a plus. Familiarity with FDA regulations, such as 21 CFR Part 11, and other related industry standards is ideal.Deep understanding of analytical methods qualification/validation also a plus.
